From Survival to a lifelong learning culture
Vulnerable Neighborhoods
Vulnerable neighborhoods are already at risk for poor and deteriorating environmental and human health conditions and the data has shown that many communities throughout Allegheny County are experiencing elevated lead levels.
Environmental Justice Community
Environmental Justice communities are those with 20+% poverty and/or 30+% minority citizens. Further, they are exposed to several environmental and socioeconomic factors that may affect people’s health, and various environmental issues contribute to ongoing environmental health inequalities.
Using UNESCO’s Learning Cities Model to focus on cities as ecosystems, this intervention program will initiate a lifelong learning culture starting wherever the adults happen to be in their life.
